Background
Dr. Emily S. Willett is a board-certified orthodontist who believes everyone–child, teen, or adult–deserves a beautiful and confident smile.
Her goal is to create a smile that her patients can be proud of for a lifetime. She enjoys the relationships she develops with her patients and their families as the process of orthodontic care unfolds.
Education
Dr. Willett grew up in Brookings, South Dakota.
She attended South Dakota State University and earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology while competing on their Varsity Swim team, meeting her husband, Ryan, on the team.
Credentials
Dr. Willett earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s College of Dentistry in Lincoln. She graduated at the top of her dental class and was recognized for her clinical excellence and her patient-centered care.
She went on to complete a specialty Certificate of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from the UNMC College of Dentistry while simultaneously earning her Master's of Science degree in Oral Biology.
Expertise
Dr. Willett has extensive training in the latest major advances in orthodontics, including temporary anchorage devices (TADs), self-ligating brackets, clear aligners, and sleep-related breathing disorders and airway management.
She's committed to providing her patients with the best care possible, and therefore, seeks out education and experiences to remain at the forefront of orthodontic treatments to best serve her patients.
An Invisalign case treated by Dr. Willett was selected as a finalist at the Resident Case Shootout Competition in Las Vegas in November 2016, and she looks forward to submitting other successful cases.

Personal Life
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Willett spends quality time with her husband, Ryan, their daughter, Lydia, and their son, Peter.
