We do regard Invisalign® as a great option for a comfortable and personalized orthodontic treatment for patients. What is the Invisalign® process?

The Invisalign® process looks a little different for each patient because each patient is unique, but this is somethings you can generally expect:

We start by taking X-rays and Dr. Willett will do a comprehensive orthodontic exam. We will take a digital scan with our state-of-the-art intraoral scanner to create a 3-D image of your mouth and review the expected treatment outcomes with a treatment simulator. With your approval, Dr. Willett uses that information to create a unique treatment plan and have custom-fit aligners manufactured – beginning the process of straightening your teeth.

Trays should be worn for about 22 hours each day to gradually achieve alignment, bite correction, space closure, or whatever your custom treatment goals are. Trays should only be taken out when eating, drinking, and brushing your teeth.

Average Invisalign treatment takes around 1 year, but each person’s treatment needs vary, so the exact timeline will be laid out for you. Aligners are made in batches and you’ll need 2-4 batches to get the perfect result. Each batch is typically around 20-25 aligners in your treatment designed by Dr. Emily Willett.

Make sure your teeth are clean by brushing your teeth before putting aligners back in your mouth. This helps eliminate the chance of staining your aligners and discoloring your teeth.

How does Invisalign® fix my smile?

When you come to Lincoln Orthodontics and choose Invisalign ® Dr. Emily Willett designs a plan personalized for your experience and your treatment goals. If you have a complex treatment plan that involves dental work (like veneers or crowns or whitening), Dr. Willett will work closely with your family dentist. This design uses the Invisalign® aligners to slowly change your smile gradually. Your job is to be consistently wearing the aligners and follow the exact prescription of other treatment needs, like rubber bands. Unlike braces, these aligners don’t need to be tightened or have wires changed, meaning there will be fewer office visits (and no emergencies!) when it comes to the aligners.
