Before Braces
At Lincoln Orthodontics, we believe that before braces you should schedule your first orthodontic visit, as it is the most important one.
At your first appointment, you will be welcomed by our team and introduced to our board-certified orthodontist, Dr. Emily Willett.
First Visit for Kids
Our highly-trained, orthodontic treatment coordinator will then take some digital photographs of your teeth and any other scans needed. Say Cheese!
After reviewing these records, Dr. Emily Willett will join you to discuss your individualized treatment plan and point out any specific areas of concern.
She will take as much time as needed to answer your before braces questions and decide what kind of orthodontic treatment is best for you.
Our team will make sure to explain everything from scheduling to expected discomfort levels, to finances and payment options. Our goal is to make sure that no question goes unanswered.

Easy FinancingKid’s Club | JRs Program
At your first visit, we invite you to join the Lincoln Orthodontics JR’s Club, even if no treatment is needed right away! Our team knows how important your teeth are, so we offer a free, growth observation program for those who are not quite ready for full orthodontic treatment. Dr. Emily Willett and our team check your teeth and mouth regularly to determine the proper time for future orthodontic work.
We do this by watching the eruption patterns of your permanent teeth, making sure the roots of baby teeth are being resorbed, and monitoring the growth of your jaw. With early monitoring we can reduce future treatment time and complexity. It will save you time and money! This program only requires us to see you every 6-12 months and we will notify your pediatric or general dentist with any new recommendations we may have. We would love to welcome you to the Lincoln Orthodontics JR’s family. Join us now to start your perfect smile journey earlier than ever!

How soon should we see an orthodontist?
It is recommended that children see an orthodontist by the age of 7. This allows Dr. Willett and our team to Monitor children’s teeth regularly to determine the proper timing and need for future orthodontic treatments, track the eruption patterns of permanent teeth, make sure the roots of baby teeth are being resorbed, and monitor the growth of both jaws.
